ABOUT THE SHOW
Lepidoptera is more than the pulse of color and the scent of flowers. It is a deeply personal story about the fragility of life and the beauty that is born precisely from its impermanence.
In her debut exhibition, Yana Popova turns her gaze to moths—creatures that often evoke fear but, for her, are a source of inspiration. She speaks with enthusiasm about the colors, the wings, their strange, almost magical shapes, before revealing a new, deeper, and more personal layer of the exhibition.
The exhibition includes several monoprints, created through silkscreen printing, based on the silhouettes of seven species of butterflies and moths—symbols of change, transformation, and growth. Each print is unique—one breath, one gesture, one life.
The installation, made of real flowers, breathes with the tenderness of the ephemeral and withers before the audience's eyes. It reminds us how fragile everything in nature is—like plants that survive only days outside the soil, and butterflies that live only for hours. Beauty blossoms for a moment and remains only in memory.
