Betweenthe lines
This Halloween, we'll drag the villain out of the shadows and give them a name, a face, and a reason to lie, hunt and torment.
We'll spread terror with stories that will have you sleeping with the light on.
The scariest monsters don't live under the bed. On 31 October, they move in between the lines at L44.
We'll write our first spine-chilling story while we're still breaking the ice.
We'll learn the finer points of creating a character.
We'll build a villain of flesh and blood.
We'll turn literary masterpieces into thrillers with a twist ending.

1. Icebreaker: "The Chain of Horrors" (10–15 min)
2. Creating a character (15–20 min)
3. Facts and backstory · Contradiction · Show the character in action
Break (15 min)
Time for drinks, conversation and swapping ideas.
4. Creating a villain (10–15 min)
5. Creative challenge: Finish the story (20–30 min)
Each participant receives an excerpt from a story already under way, taken from a well-known literary work. The task is to write your own continuation, and the plot must include the villain created by another participant. Different ideas, styles and characters collide, and the results are often surprising and original.
6. Wrap-up and feedback (2–3 min)
A short recap of the experience, a chance to share impressions, and a brief anonymous survey to help us improve future workshops.
We do have a policy of no external food or drinks at L44 Space.
We offer a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and some snacks at the bar.
